Big Orange Heart Needs Your Help

There are a few key areas that are our current focus:

  • Fundraising
  • Website content
  • Impact report
  • Mental health survey

If you’re able to dedicate any time to any one of these areas we’d be very grateful. If you’re unsure how you can help, we’d be happy to schedule a call to discuss.

Fundraising

Big Orange Heart has been a tangible ‘thing’ now for 12 months. We’ve been able to provide a lot of support thanks to the generosity of so many people, many of whom are in the Slack group, so thank you. We’re at a stage now where we need cash to cover time that can’t be donated. Our estimated costs for year one, once funded, are £260k.

We would like to split that:

  • £150k from strategic partners
  • £100k from government grants
  • £10k from public donations

If you have any thoughts/connections/comments on helping us achieve this, we’d love to chat.

Website Content

We need to raise the profile of Big Orange Heart to enable us to better serve the community. We have an opportunity with our website to deliver a lot of content through the videos produced weekly from our events. This does require a restructure of the current site/s.

For those of you with SEO experience, we’d love to have a conversation. We want to structure the sites in such a way, they won’t hinder us going forward.

We’d also like to start getting regular posts out. Cover various topics linking back to the Health Hubs. As well as interviews, if you’re up for it, please do let us know?

Impact Report

We’ve now collected data from time dedicated to Big Orange Heart over the last 12 months. We want to turn this data into a landing page + PDF for distribution.

We need help writing content around it and design support. Again if that’s you? Please let us know.

We want to make the report an annual process as part of our transparency ethos.

Mental Health Survey

To help understand the extent of mental health related issues within our community, we plan to put out a survey. There are several ways you can help with this:

  • Questions – we need to ensure we’re asking meaningful questions that enable Big Orange Heart to deliver an appropriate service.
  • Messaging/Marketing – we need to ensure we get as high response rate as possible, so we know the data is representative.
  • Sanity Checking – we need to ensure the questions are lead by a limited number of experiences, so we need people to provide feedback before it’s delivered.

If any of this sounds interesting and you feel you have the skills/time to dedicate to it, please get in contact.

In the last 12 months Big Orange Heart has been able to deliver just under 800 hours of free support, to friends and colleagues in our community.

A huge 3,300 hours have been donated in all.

All that is unfunded, imagine what we’ll be able to do once we’re funded!
